(Colonie), February 9, 2009 — Community Resource Federal Credit Union, in association with the Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club (HMRRC), will host the 4th Annual Community Resource Father’s Day 5k Run on Sunday, June 21 to benefit Capital District Community Gardens. The road race will be held at the Crossings, which is located at 580 Albany Shaker Road in Colonie. This year, there will be children’s events including face painting, crafts, and races organized by age level.
The Credit Union is looking for local businesses, organizations, and individuals who are willing to sponsor this family-oriented event that attracts hundreds of runners and spectators. Sponsorships range from $50 to $250. The deadline for sponsorship is April 15. For more details or a sponsorship application form, call Wendy Meola at 783-2211, extension 225.
This year, Community Resource hopes to raise $7,800 to support Capital District Community Gardens and its community gardens, street planting, urban landscaping, squash hunger, veggie mobile, and garden education center programs.
