ALBANY, NY- October 20, 2010- The Capital District Gay and Lesbian Community Council (CDGLCC) is hosting a candlelight vigil and community support rally on Wednesday October 20 at 6:30pm in Washington Park, Albany. The Rally is in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth and is in response to the recent suicides by young LGBT people around the country.

“Together with our community partners, we stand united to tell LGBTQ youth that they are supported and loved, even though their school and home environments may not welcome them. It’s vital that LGBTQ youth feel supported, and we must challenge those who are intent on terrorizing these youth,” says Judy Disco, Board President of the CDLGCC.
