Local Wine and dine book for Charity Announced
Clifton Park, NY, April 29, 2011 – Heard it through the grapevine – 50 top chefs of the finest restaurants from the Adirondacks to the Hudson Valley will join with Chloe Creek Vineyards to create, Chloe Creek Pinot Pairings, a cookbook for charity with all profits from book sales going to the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Albany Medical Center, the Capital Region’s only provider of care to children and adolescents with cancer and a wide variety of blood disorders.
Bill and Kim Comiskey, Clifton Park residents and owners of Chloe Creek Vineyards, are producers of distinctive and limited production Pinot Noirs in Russian River Valley, California. “This is an exciting local project and a product of our passion for wine, food and desire to help children in need. This is a great opportunity to raise money for a truly worthwhile cause by introducing the public to the world of wine and to some amazingly talented chefs in an area rich with hidden little restaurant gems,” said Mr. Comiskey.
This book is collaboration between Chloe Creek Vineyards and 50 of the most talented chefs from upstate New York’s finest restaurants, creating entrée dishes complimented by Chloe Creek’s award-winning Pinot Noir.
Readers will be treated to a foreword written by Steve Barnes, restaurant columnist for the Times Union and author of the popular Table Hopping blog. Each dish featured will include a full-page color photograph, along with a detailed entrée recipe. Content will also include interpretations by sommeliers and how glassware makes a difference in the taste of wine. Readers get a glimpse into the world of wine, learning how Chloe Creek Vineyards began, where the grapes come from and how wine is made.
The hardcover cookbook will be available by late fall, with special events leading up to and coinciding with the book’s release. Information on events and pre-order sales can be found online: www.chloecreek.com
There are approximately 10 spots open at the time of this release for restaurants that would like Chloe Creek to consider their participation. Interested restaurants or chefs should contact Bill Comiskey @ bc@chloechreek.com for an interview.
Media interested in scheduling an interview or looking for additional information, please call Angela Chichester @ 518-788-2461.
