New to the area, but well versed in the industry, entrepreneurs Chris & Sarah Ward are opening Saratoga Springs’ newest auction company, North Peak Auctions. While officially open for business in April, the company’s Grand Opening will commence on Saturday, June 18th. They will be holding a fine quality antique and clock auction featuring more than 500 lots in downtown Saratoga, at the Universal Preservation Hall on Washington Street.
“We are excited to be selling the contents of a Lake Erie cottage along with a vast one-owner collection of more than 300 antique clocks,” says Mr. Ward. Highlights of the sale include Stickley and Limbert furniture, arts & crafts lighting, and numerous works of art by listed artists. Throughout the sale, North Peak will hold drawings for gifts to registered bidders, including gift cards and baskets and a floral arrangement. Additionally, the company provides a concession and offers free coffee to anyone bringing his or her own reusable mug. “We strive to make it more than just an auction,” says Mrs. Ward, “We want our auctions to be an exciting, premiere event for everyone. ” The sale is open to everyone from the experienced antiquarian to the curious newcomer, with no cost to register as a bidder. The sale will begin promptly at 10am, with preview and registration opening at 8am.
