Franchise sets new attendance milestones in 2011
TROY, N.Y. (September 6, 2011) – The Tri-City ValleyCats 2011 season has ended without a chance to defend their New York-Penn League title. However, the franchise has plenty to celebrate.
For the eighth consecutive season the ValleyCats set a new single-season
attendance record. 156,279 fans passed through the gates of Joseph L. Bruno Stadium in 2011, nearly 1,000 more fans than 2010. That averages out to 4,341 per game, an increase from the 4,314 average in 2010.
The ValleyCats reached the 100,000 attendance mark before the month of August for the first time since they arrived in Troy in 2002 and three dates from 2011 sit in the top ten all-time crowds at “The Joe.” Those dates include the single-game attendance

Schenectady Museum Receives $1,500 Grant from Transfinder for Field Trip Transportation Assistance
Transfinder has awarded a grant for $1,500 to the Schenectady Museum & Suits-Bueche Planetarium’s Powering the Future: The STEM Fund, to provide field trip transportation assistance during the 2011-2012 school year for underserved youth in Schenectady County whose lack of resources would otherwise prevent a visit to the Museum.
