Albany, NY (October 1, 2012) – The Junior League of Albany (JLA) is proud to announce the kick off to their two week long 95th Anniversary Celebration. During the next two weeks, October 1-14, 2012, Junior League of Albany Members will participate in 95 hours of community service in the Capital Region. The Junior League of Albany is proud to partner with local organizations including The Albany County Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center, Albany Medical Center Children’s Hospital, The Capital City Rescue Mission, The HopeClub of the Capital Region, Komen Race for the Cure, and the Marrilac Family Shelter, while commemorating this important anniversary.
For 95 years, The Junior League of Albany has been partnering with these charitable organizations and others, such as Equinox, and Gilda’s Club of the Capital Region, helping to support and advance their goals through volunteer efforts. In 1995, the first annual Race for the cure was run in Albany under the auspices of The Junior League in Albany and through partnerships like these with Susan G. Komen, JLA continues to make a positive impact in our community as they have done throughout the years.
