History: Constructed in approximately 1910 as an office building, a recently revealed cornerstone identifies 74 State as the former "Kinney and Woodward Building." Subsequently, the building was used as a retail furniture store (R.C. Reynolds based in Troy, NY) and by "Bond Clothes," which provided more recent identification as the "Bond Building," now fully restored as an upscale hotel featuring lodging, conference and dining facilities.

Best Board Retreat EVER. The staff at 74 State welcomed us each warmly with valet parking, had our coffee, tea, juices and sparkling water waiting with a continental breakfast in advance of our arrival. Every last staff member went above and beyond to make sure were comfortable and could focus on getting our much needed organizational structures in place. The spaces offered were perfect for both board room style meetings, as well as for our team building exercises. Our lunch was served at 74 State's Bistro / Bar, overlooking the corner of State Street and Pearl, with views of the skyline, bridge over The Hudson River and the Center for Economic Growth Building (we waived to Mike Tucker). The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. At the end of the day, many of us stayed to enjoy a fine dining experience at 74's Marche' Restaurant -- the wine list is impressive. Nobody went hungry for certain, the event went without a hitch and it all fit into our budget. Thank you Terri, Emily and everyone on staff -- you rock!
