The mission of the Albany Art Room is to bring the excitement of artistic expression to more people. By helping visitors to overcome obstacles such as limited space or lack of confidence, we open up the visual arts to a wider community. The Albany Art Room offers a vibrant, creative environment, providing an opportunity for aspiring and accomplished artists to share inspiration and celebrate their work.

The Albany Art Room is a friendly place where you can create art. We welcome people of all ages and levels of experience. The Albany Art Room provides the materials, space and support needed to discover and express your creativity. Our materials are available for artists who want to work independently. We also offer a range of course options for more focused instruction.

We LOVE the Albany ART Room.
Everything a kid (and adult) could want to get creative is available, including friendly staff and instruction, if desired. There is no other place quite like it in the area. Spending an hour or two there can make anyone feel like a real artist!

We love the Albany Art Room! I take adult classes and my 6-year-old daughter takes drawing and painting classes, and we have play dates there with her friends. The atmosphere inspires creativity, and the artists who work there are kind and helpful.

I love the Albany Art Room! There are projects for every interest, every age group and every level of expertise. Classes are serious but not stressful; the atmosphere is relaxed and the supervision professional. Participants receive as much assistance as they need to complete a project and learn a new medium. Location is convenient and includes parking.

Where do I begin to express my LOVE for the Albany Art Room! Their retail store has saved me on so many occasions, whether it's a last minute gift or a last minute card...they have it.

I recently took a drawing class at the AAR and it surprisingly reminded me of how much I love to create art. I felt proud of my work after the class....a great feeling. =)

The AAR is an Albany treasure. Children and adults enter a warm, welcoming world of color, creativity and community. An hour at the AAR will get you all the paint, crayons, chalk, watercolors, paper, easels, etc. you need to create something, and set you back less money than a visit to Starbucks. Parents can sit and chat while children in smocks (provided) give vent to their creative selves, assisted when necessary by able, ever patient staff. We just had a birthday party there, with 15 or so 5 year olds, and it was a great success with them and their parents, too. My wife and I have been persuaded to pick up a brush, from time to time, or make a print. Why should the kids have all the fun? Holiday presents in the AAR shop that you won't find anywhere else. Can't recommend the place enough.
