Matt and Stephen of First Touch, started working with our club over 3 months ago. Training started during our indoor season, transitioning to outdoors as Spring moved in.
Before their arrival, we made a number of attempts to deliver a tactics and skills training piece to our members, but the lack of available, qualified staff to run the training left our efforts floundering and ultimately withering away. Again, we were left with the old standby option of taking our players South to train and play. An unattractive choice for the Club because it erodes our player base. Equally so for the parent and player, because of the amount of time and money required to train outside of our area.
We had the need and demand for skills and tactical training but no way to pull it off, until First Touch entered into the picture. Matt and Stephen met with us, laid out a program that filled our Club's training needs, at a cost that our members could bear. The response from our membership was great. The number of participants was better than we had hoped for and the results on the field, over the short 3 month period, was game changing.
We can now provide our members a full compliment of training options that affords, the serious player, the opportunity to take their game to the next level and for those less serious, it has helped them build a stronger tactical and technical soccer skills foundation.
If you are thinking about participating in, or developing a skills and tactical training piece, for your Club or player, there's no doubt that First Touch delivers.

Stephen and Matt have done an amazing job teaching our club players the game of soccer. We have a wide range of ages attend our sessions each week and they do an awesome job of keeping all of the players involved, while developing their skills individually and as a team.
On a personal note, my son has seen incredible growth over the last couple of months. If a 15 year old does not complain about going every week, they must be doing something right!
Keep up the excellent work!

I unconditionally endorse Steven Hogan?s coaching ability and I strongly recommend that you consider sending your sons to his training sessions over the course of this summer.
Steven?s soccer accomplishments are significant. He grew up playing in multiple English Premier Club academies. He played on Ireland?s national team at the U14 through U16 levels. He played collegiate soccer in the US. He was a technical director for a major soccer club in PA. Currently he coaches for the College of St. Rose and the Albany Alleycats.
I have been involved at many different levels of youth soccer for more than ten years. I have trained and served as a travel coach. I have served as a travel/premier manager for multiple teams playing in multiple leagues. I have served as an active board member for a major town soccer club. During that time, I have worked on tournaments, finances, the web site and administering the house league.
I consider myself to be a very knowledgeable consumer of the services offered in the youth soccer industry. Be sure to understand, it is an industry.
Steven is young, ambitious and hungry to make a name for himself. He has ties to the community. I think this academy is his sole focus.
I recently had an in-depth discussion with Betsy Drambour. She is the director of the women?s program for the Albany Alleycats. She was also on the US Woman?s National Team (pool), she was a four-year starter at George Mason, won the NCAA Championship in her senior year and was named defensive player of that tournament.
We share the same opinion that summer soccer camps, whether developmental or identification (ID Camps) oriented, are primarily social in nature. The first question my kids ask is, "Who else is going?"
It is my position that the better learning format is shorter, focused skills training over multiple sessions throughout the summer.
For the record (because it would be the first thing I would ask), I am not receiving any form of compensation for doing this. I hold Stephen in very high regard and it is my pleasure to endorse his service.
