New World Bistro Bar is an 80 seat gastro pub in the heart of Albany's Delaware Avenue Neighborhood. The building is cozy, the food is fresh and creative and the staff is friendly and nurturing.
The menu features regional and natural meats, sustainable seafood, local produce, and Freebird Chicken; also a wide variety of creative vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Don't forget to ask about Chef Ric's spice scale... we've got everything from mild to brightly seasoned to authentically, assertively spiced dishes.
New World Bistro Bar has earned local and national recognition, including the 2010 Sante Restaurant Award for Innovative Cuisine and a nomination for "Best Burger in the Capital District" by the New York State Beef Industry Council in 2011. Albany's 2011 Metroland Readers' Poll listed NWBB as First Place in five categories: 'Best American', 'Best International', 'Best Vegetarian', 'Best Restaurant to Take a Date' and 'Best Server- Aleph Ashline.'
Ric Orlando is the Managing Consultant/ Executive Chef at NWBB, and is also Chef-Owner of New World Home Cooking and New World Catering in Saugerties, NY. He is a two-time winner of the Food Network's competition show "Chopped". Ric is one of the Hudson Valley's best know chefs and is always working to improve farm-to-table associations.
Scott Meyer and Annette Nanes are the owners of NWBB and co-owners of the Spectrum 8 Theatres two doors down the street.
