Toungue-Tied?

Ron.jpgI was in my car listening to The Dan Patrick Show yesterday and heard the sound bite of an ABC news anchor reporting the conclusion of the Miami/Boston game 4 matchup from this past week. In the video clip which I've posted for your pleasure, Meghan Torjussen, the oblivious news anchor explains rather 'matter-of-factly' how the Eastern Conference Finals game has actually ended in a tie. I'm hoping for the Maine based news station that Meghan was just filling in for the regular 'sports guy' and happen to catch only half of what her producer was saying in her ear, as oppose to her actually being the regular sports reporter and being that ignorant to the subject matter. Listen, I'm not holding Meghan to a standard of knowing storylines, stats, or history. No, the only thing I ask is that you be aware of an inevitable winner and loser in the game you're reporting. My favorite part of the 20-second ear sore is after she prefaces what she's reporting she opens with a unflappable confidence of "I guess___". Classic. I also love the deep sigh of relief at the end of the summary before moving on to baseball news. "Phewww, umm, ok in baseball news the Red Sox look to take control of the NFC North." Hey we all make mistakes so it's in good fun...I'm sure she'll rebound appropriately following game 8 :)
