ALBANY NY — Don't miss the 2011 Juneteenth Celebration on June 11th in Albany NY brought to you by Mayor Jennings and the City of Albany.
Juneteenth is a celebration where the whole family can enjoy great music, entertainment, educational information, free food and beverages, give-a-ways and more. This exciting event is free to attend!
Juneteenth has long been a celebration of freedom, as the date represents the time when the last slaves in America were freed after emancipation.
Today, the celebration of the human spirit serves as an important historical milestone commemorating African American freedom with an emphasis on education and achievement. Be a part of the Juneteenth anniversary celebration!
When: Saturday, June 12, 2010 - 11am to 4pm. Opening ceremony at noon.
Where: Arbor Hill Community Center, 50 Lark St. in Albany (Corner of Lark and Second Street - Second Street Entrance)
Admission: FREE
