Celebrating 28 years of music, Albany’s signature free concert series premiered in the summer of 1990 with a performance by legendary folk artist Richie Havens, and has since grown into a staple of summer in the Capital Region. Showcasing a diverse lineup of big names, up-and-coming acts and the region’s most talented original artists, Alive at Five offers eight weeks of free, critically-acclaimed performances catering to nearly every taste.

For the 2017 Series, Alive at Five will be held at Jennings Landing with a rain location of the Corning Preserve Boat Launch.

August 3 - Dr. Jah and the Love Prophets with King Yellowman & the Sagittarius Band

5:00pm-6:00pm - Dr. Jah and the Love Prophets - Based in New York's Capital Region, Dr. Jah and the Love Prophets have been on the reggae scene for over 20 years.

6:30pm-8:00pm - King Yellowman & the Sagittarius Band - Yellowman has an incredible history in Reggae music. His upbringing at the Maxfield Home orphanage in Kingston and being albino in Jamaica were two obstacles the he overcame and went on to be the biggest reggae artist since Bob Marley.
