On March 28, 2012 come celebrate the GRAND OPENING of Albany’s first co-working facility, Beahive Albany. Take a tour of the space and network with lead professionals of the Capital Region, while enjoying light fare, beer and wine.
What is the Beahive?
It's the first co-working facility of its kind in the Albany area and offers affordable, personal space in an open work environment. Rent a desk by the day, week, or month and be a part of the community.
Why is Beahive spelled funny?
It’s a cute reference to Beacon, NY (BEA-HIVE, Bea-con…). Beacon is the quaint river town in the Hudson Valley that has been bubbling with potential since the renowned contemporary art museum Dia:Beacon moved in.
The original Beahive opened in May 2009 right in the heart of Beacon’s Main Street in an artisan-renovated 1907 Bell Telephone building. A second was added in Kingston later that winter and now a third hive in Downtown Albany.
Inspired in part by the coworking movement, Beahive is a new kind of collaborative space for work and community, the only of its kind in the Hudson Valley. At the most basic level, the space provides a shared, creative work environment for entrepreneurs, the creative class, microbusinesses and consultants.
WHAT IS COWORKING?
Quite simply, coworking is a new way to work. It’s a growing worldwide movement in collaboration, where people work in a shared space, alone and together.
