An original play adapted by Judy Rettig and Eileen Schuyler from Isaac Metzker's book "A Bintel Brief: Sixty Years of Letters from the Lower East Side to the Jewish Daily Forward." Sometimes sad, sometimes humorous, the letters depict the lives and times of Jewish immigrants as they seek guidance from the advice column of the Jewish Daily Forward. This fully-rehearsed, staged reading will be performed by Theater Voices with a bare minimum of scenery and costumes. Theater Voices has presented lively, evocative staged readings to Capital District audience since its inception in 1989.
This presentation is part of Temple Israel's Jewish Cultural Arts program and is underwritten by Eleanor & A. Abba Koblenz Memorial Fund--dedicated to the presentation of theatrical venues at Temple Israel. Free parking is available in the back of the building by entering driveway adjacent to the New Scotland entrance (next to St. Peter's Hospital). Further information may be obtained at 438-7858, ext 117.
