Local talent and award winning recording artist, Margaret Bernstein, will be celebrating the release of her new singer-songwriter CD, "Distant Thunder" at a special release concert at The Egg Center for the Performing Arts in Albany on Sunday, June 17th (Father's Day) at 5 PM. Distant Thunder, which comprises twelve of her best original songs, features the melodically haunting voice and virtuosic flute and piano playing of Margaret Bernstein as well as the production savvy of Super Buddha (Blondie). It contains the hit single "Cinderella Falling", which is Margaret's unique twist on the Cinderella Story. Known for her "Uplifting Instrumentals and Socially Awakened songs", Margaret combines the sophistication of Sheryl Crow, the lyric poignancy of Alanis Morissette and the musical exuberance of 10,000 Maniacs. She will be accompanied by her five-piece band. Heather Richards, another well esteemed local singer-songwriter, will be the opening act.
