Brookfield Renewable Energy Group, Cohoes City School District, and officials from the City of Cohoes will hold the 2012 Falls View Park Arts & Music Festival on Sunday, May 6 from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. This free community event celebrates the 4th annual opening of Falls View Park. - Falls View Park will be decorated with artwork crafted by Cohoes City School District children. - The high school's Director's Choice select chorus will perform. - Headlining the event will be Rick Rourke & Lost Wages, delivering an energetic and unique perspective on American roots music flavored by blues, country, jazz, and soul. - Cohoes band BackBeat will emcee and perform. The event will be held rain or shine. Tentative Festival Schedule - 1:00 p.m. - Opening remarks by Brookfield representative, Cohoes Mayor John T. McDonald III, and Cohoes City School District Superintendent Robert K. Libby - 1:15 to 4:30 p.m. - Cohoes City School District art show -1:15 to 1:45 p.m. - musical performances by Cohoes High School's Director's Choice select chorus - 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. - musical performance by Rick Rourke & Lost Wages - 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. - musical performance by BackBeat Falls View Park is adjacent to Brookfield's School Street hydroelectric facility on North Mohawk Street in Cohoes.
