The Memorial Concert Band of Colonie will present an authentic recreation of a concert by the famous Sousa Band representative of the period 1915 to 1920. Associate Conductor Arthur Himmelberger will lead the band. The repertoire will include the following pieces, as well as fast-paced marches and encores:

The Southern Cross (Harold L. Clark)
Doug Dougherty, Trumpet Solo
The Immovable Do (Percy Grainger)
In Flander's Fields (John Philip Sousa)
Suzanne Clune, Soprano Solo
The White Man from Dwellers of the Western World (John Philip Sousa)
The program will be repeated on April 27 at 7:30 PM at the Bardavon Opera House in Poughkeepsie, NY as part of the Association of Concert Bands 2012 National Convention. The Memorial Concert Band of Colonie is a co-host band. The guest conductor will be internationally renowned conductor and Sousa interpreter Keith Brion with commentary by John Philip Sousa IV.
