Taste-Full Evening

St. Paul's Center, located in Rensselaer County, provided emergency housing for homeless mothers and their children and provided support and services to help families live independently.  According to the Capital Region Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), in 2011 Rensselaer County's homeless service provides served 1932 households, including 782 families with 1416 children.  Twenty-three percent of these households were single female headed households with children.  St. Paul's Center plays a vital role in supporting the community by directly responding to the emergency housing needs of single mothers and their children.  In 2011 St. Paul's Center housed 76 households which included 172 children.

 

"This event will be enjoyable and festive while drawing attention to the growing problems of homelessness specifically for single mothers and their children in Rensselaer County," Said David Rossetti, Executive Director of St. Paul's Center.  Newly elected president of the Board President Dolores Mascolo added, "The good work being done by St. Paul's Center is making a difference in reducing the numbers of homeless families. However, the Center does not do it alone.  It is the commitment of the entire community that helps support the mothers and children who come to our doors.  This event supports that good work and allow the community to come together to show their support for the center and the mothers and children the center serves
