Explore hands-on, inquiry-based lesson plans that will allow you to bring the subject of space and the planet Mars into your classroom. Explore a student-made planet from the planning stages of the launch to landing. Explore the planet through a special presentation of The Mars Show in the Suits-Bueche Planetarium and through scientific experiments. Receive the necessary information to plan an entire project or just one fun in class lesson. Lessons approach the subject through Math, Science, English, and Art to allow for cross curriculum teaching and align with the Next Generation Science Frameworks. Special Guest Scientist Janie Schwab of Dudley Observatory will use Google Earth to compare geological features on Mars with those on Earth.
This STEM Education Teacher Workshop is presented by Time Warner Cable's Connect a Million Minds Initiative and is FREE. Questions and Registration? 518-382-7890 x 256 or email ehoffman@schenectadymuseum.org.
