Williamstown, MA -- Artsbridge, Inc is hosting its 2014 Summer Showcase on Friday, July 25th from 11:00am-3:00pm at The Buxton School, 291 South Street, Williamstown, MA. The showcase will include exhibitions of the students' artwork and screenings of their short films, as well as performances by the students themselves.  Founded by Massachusetts resident Debbie Nathan, Artsbridge, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that uses art and dialogue to develop constructive partnerships between American, Israeli and Palestinian teens. Each summer, Artsbridge hosts an annual Inter-Cultural Leadership Development Program bringing Israeli, Palestinian and American students together to develop leadership skills, learn to understand and respect each other and to learn how to constructively deal with conflict. By exercising creativity and working together through art and film, the students are better able to respect each other's experiences, empathize with each other and learn how to work together to create solutions to the pressing issues in their communities. Students will then return to their home regions, continuing the work through follow-up seminars and serving as peer leaders in their communities. This leadership program offers the students the necessary support structure to continue their learning process while they remain surrounded by the very conflict and criticism they are working to overcome. Artsbridge partners with established community organizations who serve as host sites, provide training and supervision for their staff, and in doing so, work to create more sustainable change.  The Summer Showcase is a chance for the public to view the art and films that the students produce during the Artsbridge Summer Program and to celebrate the accomplishments of the students. A barbecue lunch will be available.
