Ye gods! Over the course of six two-hour-long sessions, we will develop an introductory knowledge of art-creation and architecture in Southern Europe circa 1000-400 BCE. Throughout the program, the writing of art history will be explored and questioned. Works will be discussed in their historical contexts, and the development of different formal approaches to representing the human body, concepts of divinity, and the spaces that each inhabits will be examined.
