Albany Roads Close For Movie Filming
ALBANY NY – The upcoming Columbia Pictures movie Salt, starring actress Angelina Jolie, will be filming a car chase scene on the streets of Albany from April 23 through May 3. Permit applications filed with the City of Albany and the State of New York will cause some roads to be shut down for the duration of the filming (see below).
Filming for the spy thriller Salt will take place primarily on I-787 during the daylight hours, but the roads will remain shut down through the night hours as well. Columbia Pictures will not be seeking local extras to use in the movie, and it is unknown if Jolie will be present for the Albany scenes. She and her family are currently staying in Long Island for the filming of Salt, which is set to be released in 2010.
The road closures will affect motorists who travel the I-787 interchange with Madison Avenue, as well as some surrounding routes. Different areas will be closed each day, while others will remain open. See below for specific road closure details.
