In the great Capital of NYS, its a fine winter day. With such negativity in our society and the current climate of unrest of public interest at the undertone of our community, its time to “let it go” for a minute. Ice skating at the plaza is a nice timeout from all the hoopla. As I took on the adventure of ice skating on the plaza New Years Day to embellish just that, I decided to take my two year old for her first skating experience. Where else but Skating at The Plaza in the capital of New York, the birth place of her mama. It was a welcoming break from it all and as my two year old reminds me to just ” let it go”. As i strapped on those skates and watched her take her first stroll on skates it warmed my heart. It brought me back to my childhood skating experiences and to her much older siblings first experiences on ice skates. As my shins were screaming and my back quietly reminding me of my aging status, I embraced the thoughts and moment of just letting it go. Sometimes, letting the frozen pipes defrost, allows the true fluid moments of what’s important seep through.
