 SCHENECTADY NY – On the 3rd Friday of every month, Schenectady spotlights the arts with its monthly Art Night. The event is an effort to promote interest in the arts throughout the community and occurs year round -- rain, snow or shine!
Schenectady's Art Night runs from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm every month on the third Friday. Throughout the night, venues offer incredible visual art displays and pieces for sale or just to admire. After 9:00 pm, local cafes and coffee houses offer a place for people to gather. There are about 20 venues who participate in Art Night Schenectady each month.
People attending Art Night Schenectady cerainly get a healthy dose of the local art scene, but they also gain a greater appreciation for many different restaurants and businesses in Schenectady. A wide variety of downtown galleries and trendy non-gallery venues host special events for Art Night, including open houses, artist receptions, live demonstrations and more.

Art Night Schenectady was inspired by First Friday in Albany - the Capital City's premiere arts night. There are other similar events in the region, including Troy Night Out, First Fridays in Ballston Spa and See You On Saturday in Saratoga.
