Stress relief
The emotional and physical stress of caregiving can take it's toll day in and day out.
That donut looks so good! You know you shouldn't eat it but having just one really won't matter, right?
Do you have a network of friends that you can hang out with, share your deepest secrets with and who support you through all of life's ups and downs?
Nothing exciting is going on... No activity for your mind or body to keep you engaged. Just a little bit of pie or some potato chips always make you feel better.
Are you a clock watcher, waiting for the next meal? Or do you eat only when your body tells you it's time to eat?
Do the kids fighting and yelling frazzle you? If your boss gives you one more added responsibility, are you going to scream? Does it seem like your spouse never listens to you and you are ready to launch an attack? The demands of life are always there... how do you handle them?
Eat it, write it down and successfully lose it.
What are we eating tonight Mom? No time to grocery shop or cook... Is take-out your only choice?
Food tastes so good! And it's everywhere... one bite leads to another and before you know it, the whole container is empty!
Cookies, candy, eggnog, party buffets... how to manage your weight during the holidays.

Jan Hempstead

My career as a registered nurse provided me the opportunity to work in a trauma center, as a case manager and as a nurse manager. I loved caring for patients, seeing them heal from their wounds, injuries and illnesses. My favorite part of the job was the positive impact I had on each patient's health by teaching and guidance. Providing care for patients in their 40's and 50's who had suffered devastating effects of a heart attack, stroke or diabetes convinced me to focus my efforts on helping to prevent these debilitating diseases.

This led me to a path of health coaching through the Circle of Life, a Mind/Body Health and Wellness Coaching System, and then advanced coach training, through CoachVille, the Center for Coaching Mastery. It was a natural progression since I had been studying health and nutrition for many years and had practiced a healthy lifestyle personally. I continue to advance my practice as a member of The Center for Mindful Eating.

I now combine my traditional medical knowledge with integrative medicine and my clients' own inner strengths. This led to the development of programs for healthy eating/weight management and stress management. I provide one-on-one coaching, group programs and free presentations for community groups, women's groups and small businesses plus a health newsletter.

If you are ready to begin eating healthy, lose weight or manage your stress before it manages you, call for a complimentary consultation at 1-888-963-9963 or email me at
