Wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have to rush to the dry cleaners after work to make sure you get your order in before closing time? If you live near Latham, you don't need to worry about that anymore.
After 20 years of research, the technology is finally available to customers. Feigenbaum Cleaners, who has been in the business for more than 90 years, has opened the first 24/7, automated dry cleaning store in the Capital Region.
The automated store uses a computerized, robotic machine to take in and give out orders. Acting much like a vending machine or ATM, the machine accepts your order after you swipe your credit card. You just put the clothes in a bag and the machine takes it from there!
You can pick your order up at any time of day, even at 2am if that is more convenient for you. Dry cleaning is no longer a hassle or a rush, you can drop your clothes off, and pick them up whenever you have time!
Todd Feigenbaum, president of the company, states that by reducing the cost of labor to operate an automated store, the savings will be passed directly to the customer.
The new dry cleaning machine also has a video phone attached, so if someone needs help, they have access to representatives at Feigenbaum's main office.
This sounds like a pretty cool innovation in the dry cleaning industry. I bet these machines will catch on, and spread to the other Feigenbaum locations in Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls and Queensbury.
Has anybody tried the new machine yet? Is it easy to use?
