Albany is becoming Hollywood's most popular set, as yet another movie shoots a scene in the area (remember Angelina Jolie's film "Salt" and the recent Cooper-Gosling picture "The Place Beyond the Pines"?)
Now a prominent movie studio is set to film part of a dramatic final fight scene in the upcoming movie, "The Challenger". Where, you might ask?
In the only place to hold a good boxing match: the Times Union Center. Directly after the TU Center hosts it's own KO boxing set on February 4, the film crew will start filming the movie's "fight for the title."
The movie "The Challenger" follows a man - "Bronx Boy" Jaden Miller - who realizes he has to fight in order to save the life he knows.
The cast includes stars like Michael Clarke Duncan (star of "The Green Mile"), Justin Hartley (from the TV show Smallville), Kent Moran (star and writer of "Listen to Your Heart"), and you.
That's right - audience members of the TU Center event on Feb 4 can stay for the film shoot and play the audience.
Want to get a little closer? Savannahs at 1 South Pearl Street in Albany is holding a contest for the part of "Ring Girl" during the fight. Put up your dukes this Friday night, January 27, from 10pm-midnight, or train for next Friday on February 3rd for a second contest.
There's no place to make you feel like a movie star like Albany, NY.
