It was just over a week ago that the New York Giants won Super Bowl XLVI, and local fans (like me) are already looking forward to seeing their favorite team as they begin training for next season. Yes, the Giants will be training in Albany again this summer! The team wasn't seen at UAlbany last summer as a result of the NFL lockout, but it looks like they're ready to come back this summer. Giants President and CEO John Mara states, "the University at Albany and the Capital Region has been a great summer home for us for 15 years, and we have every intention of returning there in 2012."
With the number of dedicated, lifelong Giants fans in upstate New York, UAlbany is a great central location for the team to go through training camp, and for the fans to come and watch. I am very excited to catch a glimpse of the Lombardi Trophy, and maybe even get my Super Bowl champion newspaper article autographed by some of the guys!
The details and the schedule isn't available yet, the Giants training camp usually runs for the first three weeks in August.
Will you be making a stop at training camp to try to grab an autograph? Maybe I'll see you down there.
GO BIG BLUE!
