Need to beat the heat? No, I'm not talking NBA finals here. There is a bit of a heat wave lingering in the area and local residents are doing all they can to keep cool.

The City of Albany is also doing everything they can to help residents stay cool today, and has opened several area swimming pools ahead of schedule.

  • Lower Lincoln Park Pool on Eagle St. and Morton Ave will be Open 12pm - 7pm
  • Mater Christi Pool on New Scotland Ave. will be Open 11am - 7pm
  • Westland Hills Pool on Colvin Ave. will be Open10am - 6pm
  • Swinburne Park Spray Pool on Clinton Ave. and Manning Blvd. will be Open 10am - 6pm
  • Sheridan and Dove Spray Pool on Sheridan Ave. and Dove St. will be Open 10am - 6pm
  • North Albany Spray Pool on North First St. will be Open 10am - 6pm
  • Krank Park Spray Pool on First Ave. will be Open 10am - 6pm
  • Upper Lincoln Spray Pool on Morton and Delaware Ave. will be Open 10am - 6pm
  • Lincoln Park Pool will be Open 3pm - 7pm.
The remaining Albany area pools will open tomorrow for the summer season.

I don't blame you for sitting inside in the air conditioning today; but if you're going outside this afternoon, head to one of these pools and take a quick dip!
