The first Joe's Crab Shack in the Capital Region is now open for business in Latham, and the first 100 people in the door received a free bucket of crabs every month for a year.
The seafood restaurant franchise is opening their fourth location in New York state and is known for their steamed crab, shrimp, craw-fish, scallops, mussels, lobster and other seafood pots.
The doors opened today at 11 a.m. for the 294-seat restaurant. The restaurant is located in Latham Farms, at the old site of the Dakota Steakhouse, at 579 Troy Schenectady Road.
Joe's Crab Shack is part of the Ignite Restaurant Group and has over 125 locations in 30 states. The first Joe's Crab Shack opened in Houston, Texas in 1991.
