Christmas Movies & More in Albany This Weekend: Dec 16 - 18

Looking for a traditional or not-so-classic Christmas movie? We've got three excellent films showing at Madison Theater this weekend for just $5 a showing - we've also got two fundraising events and two kids events you won't want to miss out on!

Christmas Movies & More at Madison Theater

Saturday, December 17 and Sunday, December 18

The classic A Christmas Story from 1983 is playing at Madison Theater for just $5, or if you go to the Sunday matinee it's just $0.35! Grab your family or friends and enjoy the story of Ralphie and his quest for a Red Ryder BB gun. The movie is playing Saturday at 2pm and 6:30pm, and Sunday at 2pm, 4pm, 7pm, and 9pm.

Saturday, December 17 and Sunday, December 18

Do you consider Gremlins to be a Christmas movie? It may not be like A Christmas Story, but if you're looking for something a little different this is an excellent choice! Watch this 1984 film about the mayhem the not-so-cute gremlins cause on Christmas Eve. The price of admission is also $5, with the Saturday matinee $0.35. Showtimes are on Saturday at 1pm, 4pm, and 6:30pm, and Sunday at 1pm, 4pm, 6:30pm, and 9pm.

Saturday, December 17 and Sunday, December 18

This Christmas movie, like Gremlins, is not your typical classic! In this 2010 movie, Santa Claus is unearthed in an archaeological dig. Soon after, children start disappearing, prompting a young boy and his father to capture Santa. Check out Rare Exports at the Madison Theater for just $5 on Saturday at 2pm and 4pm, and Sunday at 2pm and 6:30pm.

Fun Fundraisers

The Lark Tavern is putting on a comedy show to raise money for animal charities! Dan Frigolette brings on 2016 Make Me Laugh Albany winner Adam Gabel and Albany Comedians, Cody Montayne, Tommy McGuire, and a few special guests. Tickets are just $10.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is hosting their annual fundraiser at Sixty State Place on State Street. Tickets range from $15 to $60.
