Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebrations & Observances

Monday, January 16

Visit Empire State Plaza on Monday morning for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Observance. This year's keynote speaker is Geoffrey Canada, the Creator and President of the Harlem's Children's Zone in Harlem. There will also be special musical performances.

Every year, the MLK Labor Celebration educates workers that everyone has the right to join and form a union. This free event features performances, children's workshops, and two keynote speakers.

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, enjoy free admission to the galleries at the Albany Institute of History & Art, courtesy of M&T Bank. The whole family can enjoy a special drop-in art project, and there will also be a lecture and book signing.
