Sara Strope and her father Harold are taking off from Delmar Thursday on a 200 mile bike ride to raise awareness for organ donation. Thursday is the 20th anniversary of Harold’s transplant, and the pair will bike the path he took 20 years ago to receive a new heart.

Sara spoke at the Albany Academy for Girls last week, stating that organ donation is the simplest form of philanthropy. A person can help as many as eight different people by donating their organs. Her father was given at least 20 years of life with his transplant, which equals more than 160 years from one donor, a huge impact.
