Beginning Thursday, March 12, 2020, through today, many planned activities and events have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are processing event cancellations as received, but this is a rapidly changing situation involving hundreds of small businesses. We ask everyone for their patience and understanding, and urge everyone to check in with businesses before visiting. Please continue to support your local community in any way that you can, whether that be takeout, gift certificates, online shopping, charitable donations, etc.

When: Event has passed. Watch this page for updates.
Cost: Tickets are $15 pre-sale; $20 at the door

The Empty Bowls Program is a wonderful grassroots movement that has brought artists, chefs, and communities together to help raise money for local food programs. Started nearly 20 years ago, it spread throughout the country to raise money and awareness about hunger.

Right here in the Capital District, potters, organized by the Collar City Clay Guild, are busy handthrowing and handbuilding bowls to donate to the 14th Annual Empty Bowls at the Italian Community Center in Troy.

Our wonderful local restaurants also join the cause by donating their delicious soups and stews to enjoy with your pre-sale ticket of only $15 ($20 at the the door). Come join us to support our community and raise money for the food programs of Troy. 100% of the proceeds go directly to those food programs.

Tickets go on sale for the 2019 Troy Empty Bowls on August 30th! Tickets can be purchased at:

  • 3rd Street Potters, Troy
  • The Broken Mold Studio, Troy
  • The Albany Art Room, Albany
  • Dragonfly Pottery, Schenectady
