The Blessed Virgin Mary of Częstochowa Parish, located at 250 Old Maxwell Road in Latham, NY, has opened it’s online Polish Food store at www.bvmc.org/foodsale. You can place your Easter order now and pick it up on Saturday April, 1st 2pm – 6pm. This popular Polish Easter Food Sale offers hot and frozen foods. Polish Easter must-haves, such as traditional baranki (Butter Lambs), holiday kielbasa, placek (sweet Polish raisin bread), and bigos (Poland’s national comfort food), 16 varieties of pierogi and more.
Walk-ins are also welcome on April 1st, the day of the sale, though inventory of some items may be limited.
Traditional goląbki (stuffed cabbage rolls) are available hot or frozen and their vegetarian goląbki is in demand. Other popular items include bigos (hunters stew), borscht (beet soup), kapusta, and haluski (cabbage and noodles). Don’t forget dessert – carrot cake, chrusciki (Polish angel wings), kolachki (fruit-filled cookies), nut rolls, apricot rolls, and raspberry rolls.
The parish is excited about its partnership with award winning Babcia’s Pierogi out of Buffalo, NY. The 16 varieties feature traditional flavors like potato and cheese, sauerkraut, and sweet cheese; signature flavors like buffalo wing, taco, kielbasa & kraut, and apple; and specialty favorites including blueberry cheese, beef on weck, potato mushroom & bleu cheese, stuffed mushroom, sausage, asiago and spinach, stuffed banana pepper, and jalapeno popper.
