A startling trend over the past few years has developed that I call “The New No”.<\/p>\n
The New No occurs when someone you already have a pre-existing relationship\/affiliation with is asked to do something or be involved in something, and rather than answering with a yes\/no or maybe, they completely ignore the invitation or ask.<\/p>\n
What ticks me off more than anything with The New No is the utter disregard for manners and courtesy that it brings. If you have been working with someone for a long time or know someone personally, it can especially hurt when there is no response whatsoever.<\/p>\n
How do you avoid The New No? Use the most direct communication method possible – whether it is face to face or the phone, getting a solid answer from someone in the heat of the moment can prevent The New No from happening.<\/p>\n
What causes The New No? Using methods like Facebook or email to ask people to do things.<\/p>\n
