This summer, I wrote a column
\non attendance in the classroom
\nand the workplace<\/a>. Upon doing
\nfurther research, I discovered that this topic is covered extensively in a
\nvariety of mediums.<\/p>\n

The Georgia Department of Techial and Adult
\nEducation stated:<\/p>\n

“A student’s attendance behaviors affect the
\nsuccess of that individual, the class, or business. Employer expectations, like
\nthat of an instructor, are simple – be present and on time. And should
\ncircumstances arise that cause one to be absent or late, call and let a
\nsupervisor\/teacher know.”<\/p>\n

A website called Helium.com
\nhas an article that states that “Absences from
\nschool or work should be reported as soon as possible. This gives authorities
\ntime to find another person to help perform your duties while you are away.
\nPlan to return to the workplace as quickly as possible.”<\/p>\n

One of the strongest
\nexamples I found of at delta.edu<\/p>\n

“In the workplace,
\npoor attendance is penalized. Poor attendance or arriving for work late
\nmay result in a loss of pay, poor performance reviews, being bypassed for
\npromotions, or even worse, termination. It lets people (especially your
\nsupervisors) know that you are unreliable and fail to plan well. For
\nexample, if you live near a train track where trains frequently travel, this
\nknowledge should be part of your daily planning.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
