Historic Troy Building to be Transformed:

Woodside ChurchThe Woodside Church is an historic building that was constructed in 1868 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Troy community was successful in saving the church from being demolished over 5 years ago. Now the Contemporary Arts Center, CAC, wants to transform the church into a center for the arts and the local community.

The Pepsi Refresh project is willing to donate $50,000 to ten organizations and their efforts at making a positive impact on society. The best ideas for the use of the money and ultimately the most votes wins. The CAC Woodside renovation is currently in 1st place in the national contest and the ballot closes on May 31, 2010.

The CAC proposes to use the money as follows:

  • $ 39,000 for Renovation of building into art center
  • $ 7,500 for Supplies and tools for art studios
  • $ 3,500 for Management

When the renovation is complete, Woodside will be a place where the surrounding community can partake in picnics, view summer films and visit international exhibitions. It will be a place where the beauty and the history of the building offer inspiration to artists of all types. The CAC needs the $50,000 to make this transformation possible. Show your support for a local good cause and cast your vote!
