All the fabulous excitement around the Royal Wedding has truly brought all of the romantics out. Can you imagine – to marry a prince and become a princess what a fabulous true Cinderella story. How to become a princess on a commoners budget. First I believe every bride is Princess for her day and feels it. Just ask any of your friends that have been married – there is something about the day and the gown whether from the consigment shop or a couture designer that makes you truly feel like a princess. But back to Tips
I will try to give you 9 tips in 9 days – First tip and First Day –
Days – Look at the date of Kate and Williams wedding – It is a Friday morning – If Royalty can do it -anyone can do it and according to the internet – it is a Royal Tradition to get married during the weekdays – Lady Diana got married on a Wednesday. I realize that if an invitation is extended to you to attend such an event – the day of the week would be your last concern on responding. Here at the Appel inn We have hosted weddings every day of the week with no greater percentage of No’s based on the day and yet there has definitely been a effect on the budget. All of the guests came – some weddings were all from out of town. They drank – they ate – they hugged and danced – everyone had a fabulous time and the couple saved thousands. Choosing a less popular day of the week will save you on venue – photographer – music – transportation and more. With so many people not working traditional Monday -Friday – with Travel always more on the weekend – with Hotels often more – every one possibly saves. Definitely something to think about – Not sure – try a summer Thursday or a Thursday before a long weekend. What a wonderful way to create a wedding weekend instead of just a 6 hour party. The Appel Inn has also used the Mondays of Holidays – Memorial Day picnic – Labor day end of summer -Columbus Day autumn feast – they have all been fabulous and fun. Last year Holli and Louis were married on a Friday afternoon and the reception was tea sandwiches – ice tea – lemonade – a gorgeous cake and no one was local – I have their photo right here with a bridal party of 14 She truly looks like a princess for the day. Tip #1 – think outside of the box for Day and Time –
