Health food and buy-local advocates will be thrilled to learn there is now a new food co-op in Downtown Troy, NY… wondering where?
The new Troy Community Food Co-op is located at the location of the old Pioneer Food Market at 77-81 Congress Street in Downtown Troy.
Despite a (let’s be honest) shabby looking exterior, the building was completely renovated inside, and it’s actually bright, cheery and quite welcoming. Inside you will find fresh, local produce, frozen goods, packaged goods and everything else you would expect to find at your local community food co-op.
They have been open since October 5th, but their formal grand opening is Tuesday, October 26, 2010. They are open daily from 8am – 8pm — even on the weekends.
Locals to the Troy and Rensselaer County region will be happy to discover a new food co-op that is closer than the Honest Weight in Albany and the Niskayuna Co-op. Happy shopping!
