You might be seeing a familiar local building on screen sometime in the next few years. The Experimental Media Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at RPI was recently scouted as a possible location for ‘Iron Man 3.’
The futuristic building of EMPAC — containing what appears to be the wooden hull of a ship quite possibly could be an unnamed villain’s secret lair in ‘Iron Man 3.’ The movie isn’t due out until May 2013 and might be filmed in 3-D.
It has been confirmed by the administration of RPI that Marvel reps were indeed given a tour of the building. It’s a far cry from Hollywood arriving at the steps of RPI, but it’s neat to consider, isn’t it?
Keep an ear to the ground and an eye for arriving superheros — in about 2 years.
