With the Presidential visit today, Jan 21, 2011, there is excitement bubbling in all parts of the Capital Region. Everyone wants to know the details of his Albany / Schenectady GE tour.
At this time Air Force One is scheduled to land at Albany International Airport at 12:10 pm and depart at approximately 2:00 pm. While that doesn’t leave much time, the President is scheduled to tour GE, and then speak to a small group of invited guests.
The speech should begin around 1:05 pm and touch on the topics of the importance of growing the economy and investing in jobs as well as clean energy to keep America competitive.
President Obama has also met with China’s President Hu Jintao regarding these same efforts. While much good has come from the meeting of the two parties, GE appears to be a major beneficiary. As of Wednesday GE announced they have lined up five deals in China, dealing with clean energy, rail transportation, and aviation, that should create $2 billion in revenue.
