There have been a lot of businesses closing lately – like the Borders in Saratoga – and unfortunately there are more to add to that list. But the good outweighs the bad as there are two new bars opening as well!
As for the closing, Joe’s Tavern in Cohoes closes today (that is, Friday February 18) after being open for seven decades – but the restaurant is for sale or lease for interested parties.
A sports bar is opening at the end of the month in Latham, called ‘On Tap.’ They will have a large selection of beer and a ‘unique menu for a sports bar’ – according to the Times Union, but I wonder what that means…. – and will be at the Holiday Inn Express on Loudon Road.
And right in Albany a new jazz bar recently opened at 69 North Pearl St. The place is called Figure 10 and the menu, at one point or another, apparently had some pretty laughable misspellings, including ‘Cherdder’ cheese nachos. The menu has been fixed – but honestly, if the food is good, who cares how they spell it?
