Many of our own neighbors in New York are suffering from the effects of Irene. In some areas it’s just a little water damage or the power’s gone, and in others it’s flooding and sudden food shortage.
The Sunmark Federal Credit Union is collecting water and non-perishables at all of its branches. These are necessities that can become suddenly difficult to obtain after a strong storm.
You can give these items at your closest Sunmark, make a donation to the Food Bank for Hurricane Relief, or even volunteer to help your fellow New Yorkers cope in the aftermath.
For more information on what you can do to help, contact the Regional Food Bank at 518-786-3691.
