This year a new event fires up a little friendly competition in the Capital Region. The first ever, Downtown Albany Jazz Fest Competition pits top jazz artist from across the region against each other for a chance to perform as the opening act at the Riverfront Annual Jazz Fest.
The first round of the competition is already complete. Musicians who wanted to be a part of the inagural Jazz Fest Competition submitted applications and a recordings earlier this month and the winners were announced today!
10 artists acts were chosen and the lineup includes a range of popular, local acts, some of which you are sure to recognize! See a full list of competitors >
On Friday, September 9 don’t miss your chance to act as a judge in the competition and help one lucky artist perform the following day on the main stage!
