Nothing beats baseball in the summer heat and this summer the Tri-City ValleyCats have proven that to be true. For the 8th season in a row the team has drawn a record breaking crowd.
The ValleyCats brought an astounding 5,000 plus fans to the J. Bruno Stadium this past week to cheer the team on for their last home game. This season 156,279 fans came to the J. Bruno Stadium, breaking last year’s record by 1,000 fans
As the ValleyCats finish up their season with six away games, Manager Stubby Clapp says “When you do get fans like this, it’s special. I wish we could have played all 76 games at home.”
As the ValleyCats’ fan base continuously expands, we wonder is it the excitement of the game, the family-friendly special events or simply the feel of supporting a local team that draws more fans each year? Or quite possibly all of the above?
Have you been to a ValleyCats game? What’s your favorite thing about going to the Bruno?
