DeCrescente Distributing Co., Inc., has acquired Polar Beverages and should start delivering a range of products to major retailers in the Capital Region. The new deal adds 900,000 cases per year to DeCrescente’s inventory. Remaining the region’s largest beverage distributor, Polar Drinks will bring DeCrescente’s annual volume up to 9.6 million cases.
Polar Beverages used to distribute their product themselves. However, now it will be DeCrescente’s job (and their job only) to deliver the popular brands to Hannaford, Price-Chopper, Shop-Rite, Target, K-Mart and Walmart stores. Polar Beverages brands include: Sunkist, A&W, Seagrams, 7-Up and Country Time.
The third acquisition of the year will cause the family-owned company out of Mechanicville to hire a few dozen people. Earlier this year, the company bought the beer division of Fitzgerald Brothers Beverages Inc., and also purchased the rights to distribute Snapple products in several area counties. DeCrescente already employs 325 people, and will be looking to fill the new jobs immediately.
If you are looking for a job, keep your eyes peeled for a DeCrescente listing, they should begin the hiring process soon.
