Jonathan’s Pizza, located at 31 N. Pearl Street in Albany, will be honoring military veterans on Wednesday and Thursday, November 9-10, from 1:00 – 6:00pm. Veterans will be given two slices of pepperoni or cheese pizza, and a beverage of choice: either a large fountain soda or a pint of draft beer. What a great way to say thanks to the local military veterans that have made personal sacrifices to defend our country.
Mayor Jennings will be at the pizzeria for a photo opportunity at 1:00pm on Wednesday to kick off the event.
Veterans must provide a current military ID or DD214 to participate in the event, and proof of age is required to be served alcohol.
This is an awesome gesture by Mike Urgo, owner of Jonathan’s Pizza. When you own an Italian restaurant, what better way to give back to local heroes than free pizza and beer? I hope to see crowds of people, veterans or not, showing their support for our troops at the event.
Jonathan’s will be open for regular business both days.
