Run it. Log it. Track it. Those are the main goals of a free new app out from CDPHP called InMotion. The InMotion app is currently available for iPhone and Android users and will be coming soon to Blackberry.
The InMotion app helps you stay on track with your fitness and diet goals, much like a health coach, but won’t cost you a dime! In fact, you don’t even have to be a CDPHP member to use the app!
According to the app’s description on their website:
CDPHP(R) InMotionSM is a fitness tracking
application that enables you to use the built-in GPS of your mobile
device to track all of your fitness activities. Record your workout
details, including duration, distance, pace, speed, elevation, calories
burned, and route traveled on an interactive map. You can even
effortlessly save and upload your workout data to inmotion.cdphp.com,
where you can view your route, workout data, and comprehensive workout
history.
The app gives you the ability to track your workout route using your phone’s GPS, keep track of your meals as they relate to your daily calorie allowance and much more. You can also make friends through the app or share fitness goals with your current friends through Facebook, Twitter or email.
According to an article by News 10, CDPHP’s InMotion app can connect you with others in your neighborhood who are looking to go for a run or hit the playground with their kids (this really appealed to me, but I have not had a chance to use that feature of the app). This is really great for people who thrive on accountability and partnership for their workouts to be successful.
Practical advice: When you are searching, search for CDPHP instead of
InMotion in the Market or App Store – much easier to find that way. Also, the first thing I noticed
when I downloaded the app to my phone was they have the option to Sign
Up with Facebook, which I love. It takes less than a minute to get
started, and the app is super easy to use.
Are you going to give CDPHP’s InMotion app a try? Do you think it’s good that CDPHP is trying to encourage people to live healthy lifestyles?
